NM lifts mask mandate for fully vaccinated individuals

Andrew Cuomo says NY not ready to ditch face masks - despite CDC announcement

Fully vaccinated guests are free to attend Hersheypark without masks, according to a recent announcements from the amusement park's Twitter page. Fully vaccinated employees will be able to work without masks as of May 18, although workers who haven't been fully vaccinated will still need to wear masks, it added.

Trader Joe's will no longer require fully vaccinated shoppers to don masks, making it one of the first major businesses to change its face-covering policy after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated its guidelines Thursday.

"The resort trusts guests to take the appropriate precautions based on their personal vaccination status", a news release said.

The CDC director also cited two real-world studies that looked at 9,000 health care workers in United States and one real-world study from Israel suggesting fully vaccinated people are not likely to carry and spread the virus.

He said the state's mask mandate would remain in place for now.

"Obviously, today's guidance that we got from the CDC in terms of those that were vaccinated do not necessarily need to wear masks anymore, both outdoors and indoors, is very big news for us", Chapek said.

In addition, New Mexico public schools will continue to require all teachers, students and visitors to wear face masks except for when eating and drinking, according to a Public Education Department spokeswoman.

CDC guidelines say fully vaccinated people must still wear a mask in health care settings, transportation hubs such as airports and stations, and public transportation.

Roughy 36% of people in the US are fully vaccinated and have received CDC-issued vaccine cards as proof.

Michigan, Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Kentucky, Washington, Maine, Vermont, Connecticut, North Carolina, Kansas, Colorado and Rhode Island announced plans to fall in line with the CDC guidance either immediately or in the coming weeks.

"Throughout the pandemic, we have followed the guidance from our national and state health experts to provide a safe environment for our guests and team members", the post read.

That decision came just hours after the CDC lifted the requirement that people wear masks indoor.

This is the latest modification regarding COVID-19 protocols for the league and further incentive for NFL players and staff to get vaccinated. And Hawaii Gov. David Ige said: "We are unable to determine who is vaccinated and who is not vaccinated". The company has 530 stores in the US, and masking remains a must for employees.

More than a dozen states quickly embraced new federal guidelines that say fully vaccinated Americans no longer need to wear masks indoors or out in most cases.

Half the states had mask requirements in place for most indoor spaces when the CDC issued its recommendations.
