Frederick Maryland shooting

Police in Maryland responded to an active shooter on Tuesday and said there are at least two victims. He added that it was not clear yet who killed the suspect.

The two people who were shot had "life-threatening" injuries, Allen Etzler, spokesman for the Police Department, said, as quoted by the New York Times. The police department said on Facebook on Tuesday morning that "the suspect is down". "Medical lifesaving procedures were initiated (but) the gunman was pronounced dead at the scene", the fort said in a Facebook post.

He said officers responded to the scene to find two males had been shot and were in critical condition. "We have confirmed there (was) only one (assailant), (and) the public is no longer at risk", Lando said. The shooter, a Navy Hospital Corpsman, is deceased.

Police were called for an active shooter situation at 8:20 the Riverside Tech Park area, Frederick Police Chief Jason Lando said.

"One of the victims who was wounded entered our facility looking for help and we were able to assist and call the authorities", said Mr Mutschler, who is based in NY.

Special agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives along with a K-9 team are being sent to the scene, the agency said.
