OtterBox is teaming up with Microsoft to launch several new mobile gaming accessories, which include the OtterBox Mobile Gaming Clip and the Easy Grip Gaming Case. While we're not making it al the way out to Vegas this year, that doesn't mean that I've not dropped my own pocket sized screen and this new twist on the classic OtterBox phone protection comes with a very interesting new twist, especially for gaming. The grip pads on each side can be swapped out for a different look and easy cleaning. This chunky black shell can hold one Xbox controller comfortably, even if the gamepad is outfitted with both the Easy Grip Controller Shell and the Mobile Gaming Clip.
The company also unveiled the Otterbox Easy Grip Controller Shell, which brings extra protection to an Xbox controller. And there are swappable grips to customize the feel. It doesn't seem like the most vital accessory for Xbox gamers, but it could be quite handy. It honors its mobile heritage with a peripheral lineup tailored to cloud gaming, as Xbox Game Pass takes full-fledged Xbox One games to iOS and Android over the web.
The OtterBox Mobile Gaming Clip takes a familiar form to other mounting solutions we've seen, albeit with features you won't find on alternative products. And it's compatible with Xbox Wireless Controllers and the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2.
OtterBox gets into gaming with a new line of rugged Xbox accessories
Gamers can grab a custom molded carrying case to fit Xbox controllers in their grips and with the game clip still attached. Numerous products also see Microsoft's official "Designed for Xbox" seal of approval, joining the lineup for Xbox cloud gaming, also known as Project xCloud, through its early days.
All due to start pre ordering in and around between 25 January, this new array of accessories is built on the manufacturing experience OtterBox has accumulated with their existing mobile case range to build a suite of add ons that should give anybody stepping away from the console screen the best chance to overcome their foes while staying protected against drops, scrapes. OtterBox says that the Mobile Gaming Clip has a premium rubber grip and is able to collapse flat for easy transportation. The Gaming Glass Privacy Guard is a glass screen protector that serves as a filter; it lets you see what's on your phone's screen when looking at it head-on, but prevents others from seeing what's on the screen at an angle.
