Dr Disrespect banned from Twitch, rumored to be permanent

Twitch Mysteriously Banned One Of Its Highest Paid Streamers & No One Knows Why

Sources alleged that the star has been permanently banned from the streaming service.

Update: The reasons for Dr Disrespect's Twitch suspension are still not known, but multiple sources are now saying it's permanent. He has been banned in the past as well, like last June when he streamed from inside a bathroom at E3. This comes fresh off the steamer having just signed a multi-year contract with the Amazon-owned company in March. Here is everything you need to know about the situation so far.

So why exactly was Dr DisRespect banned from Twitch? Twitch did not offer any information on the reason for the ban, or the duration.

After Polygon reached out to Twitch for comment, an unnamed representative informed the site that they "take appropriate action when we have evidence that a streamer has acted in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service". "These apply to all streamers regardless of status or prominence in the community", the Twitch spokesperson said in a statement.

Sources have confirmed to Rod "Slasher" Breslau, a credible esports insider who first reported on the ban on June 26, that the ban is permanent.

Very few details are now known about why Beahm has been banned from the platform this time, and if you visit his Twitch channel, you will find nothing there. I know it's a tough... life's weird right now. "But this is serious", she said.

Dr Disrespect, real name Herschel "Guy" Beahm IV, was banned from Twitch this week, with the streaming platform offering no explanation as to why he was removed.

As yet, Beahm has not formally commented on the ban and the streamer has not posted on his social media accounts for two days, it's now unclear why the ban has been imposed.

Beahm's agents at Creative Artists Agency haven't replied to an email from Mashable looking for more info at the time of this writing.

So it seems as though Dr DisRespect has been banned for breaking Twitch's rules in some way.
