The Pentagon has sent the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson to the region, along with a nuclear-powered submarine, the USS Michigan, which will conduct drills with the short-hull destroyer USS Carlson. Seoul says North Korea conducted huge live-fire drills Tuesday. Kim said they discussed ways to get more cooperation from China and Russian Federation, which they agreed is crucial to applying effective pressure on North Korea to abandon its nuclear weapons program. Arkansas originally planned to execute eight inmates between Monday and April 27 and is appealing the ruling. The state reacted to her decision by filing federal court appeals Saturday. The manufacturers of the three drugs object to their use in executions. The Freedom Caucus has several dozen members. Ryan could only spare 20 votes from his side of the aisle - no Democrat will vote for a bill repealing the ACA - so he had no path to passing the legislation. (more...)
