If you want to install Chrome extensions, Google's Chrome Web Store soon will be the only place to get them. You will no longer be able to install Google Chrome extensions from outside of the main Chrome Store anymore. And in early December, 2018, the inline installation API will be removed from Chrome 71 . The inline installation feature in Chrome arrived in 2011 to allow users to install extensions directly from developers' websites. (more...)

To delete a sent message, users can simply press and hold on the text or the media (audio, video or Stickers) they would like to get rid of and a pop-up delete button will appear. The message will be gone, and friends in the individual or group conversation will be alerted that a message was deleted. The company didn't elaborate on the general improvements, but it did say that you can quickly see if your friends are in a voice chat right from your friends list, and that you should notice "clear, crisp voice quality before, during, and after your games". To install the build, head over to the "Updates" tab in the App Store and check for updates. You can install iOS 11.4.1 beta 2 as an over-the-air update if you have the proper installation profile added to your iPhone. This update is most likely to fix any bugs and bring performance improvements. So far, there hasn't been any noticeable changes spotted in the new beta but we'll let you know if we find anything down the line. (more...)

But Todd Howard didn't say much more than "these games exist". Naturally, when Keighley sat down with Howard, he asked how far along the games are, and he got a straightforward answer. When asked if that meant that Starfield existed in a playable form somewhere, he responded "oh, yes". The latter part is something that Bethesda hasn't flirted with before in its Fallout or Elder Scrolls games, preferring to keep them a single-player only experience. (more...)

Not only is USB Type-C a far more robust option than the current Lightning connector in terms of bandwidth but it will also help alleviate the woes of owning a litany of connectors and adapters that iPhone users now have to wrestle with. Those vendors claim that Apple's move to USB-C will cause other companies to shift as well, much as the adoption of USB-C in Apple's MacBook line has led to PCs from other manufacturers supporting the interface. I tested it with several commands for my smart home and I was able to get it to work for two lights (I don't have light groups), one light + one A/C unit, and one light + one scene (Harmony through SmartThings). Rather, users needed to say something like "turn off living room and turn off bedroom" to accomplish that task. Further, this latest firmware update seems to have enabled Google's promised "smarter" support for multiple commands. (more...)
