It was first used back in May for the first astronaut launch by Elon Musk's company. Hawthorne-based SpaceX launched a re-supply mission to the International Space Station Sunday, after postponing the launch Saturday due to poor weather. Dragon 2 doesn't need any help from humans to dock and attach itself to the ISS. On Monday it is scheduled to join the Crew Dragon, marking the first time two Dragon capsules are docked there. Now the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency ( JAXA ) is preparing to collect samples taken from a near-Earth asteroid. The Japanese space agency previously used this site for the Hayabusa landing in 2010. This computer-generated image shows the Hayabusa2 spacecraft above the asteroid Ryugu. After releasing the return capsule, the main spacecraft changed course to avoid a collision with Earth, missing 125 miles. (more...)

The first of the two videos was taken from the Arecibo Observatory control room, where radio astronomers normally do their work. Arecibo also enabled researchers to hunt for radio waves from potential alien technology. NASA has released a video of 2020 SO orbits around the Earth. On Wednesday, the government space agency said the object known as "2020 SO" is not an asteroid , but rather a part of a Centaur rocket booster from the Surveyor 2 spacecraft, which launched toward the moon in 1966. (more...)

The area is a massive lava plain known as Oceanus Procellarum, or "Ocean of Storms". State broadcaster CCTV showed on Tuesday animated sequences of the Chang'e-5 spacecraft and the projected scenario for landing on the moon. The samples would be transferred to a return capsule for the trip back to Earth, landing in China's Inner Mongolia region. However, a part of the eclipse can be visible in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, and Uttarakhand. The lunar eclipse will be below the horizon in several major cities, including Delhi and Mumbai.
