On top of storm surge that could penetrate miles inland, as much as 15 inches (38 centimetres) of rain could fall in some parts of Louisiana, said Donald Jones, a National Weather Service meteorologist in Lake Charles, Louisiana - near the bullseye of Laura's projected path. Marco has weakened even more as of 8 a.m. Wanda Vazquez to declare a state of emergency over the weekend after some 200,000 homes and businesses were left without power and more than 10,000 lost access to a water source due to the storm. The two tropical storms were at opposite sides of the Gulf with Beulah making landfall in Mexico and other eventually making landfall near Tampa, Fla. The goal is to cut back the variety of mosquitoes that unfold the illness like dengue or zika virus. However the males carry a protein that will kill off any female offspring before they reach mature biting age. A genetically modified mosquito is a male mosquito, it is specially prepared in the lab.
