SpaceX's vice president of satellite government relations Patricia Cooper told SpaceNews that all future satellites will boast the visors once the remaining stock of existing models have launched. While the historic manned space mission Demo 2 used a new booster, this Starlink one has already flown four times previously. According to the CAAC's Thursday announcement posted on its website, foreign airlines that were barred from China due to the earlier restriction will be allowed to resume operating one flight per week into China starting June 8. Their service will be suspended for a week if at least five passengers have the virus and for four weeks if at least 10 passengers test positive, according to officials. (more...)

A large asteroid, 2020 KN5, will safely fly by the earth within distance of 0.04138 astronomical units on Thursday, 04 June 2020. These objects are called near-Earth objects (NEOs), and they zoom past us on a daily basis. The asteroid 441987 (2010 NY65) has also been studied extensively due to its proximal orbit to Earth, after having been discovered a decade ago. It will breach the MOID at 0.025 AU (3.76 million kilometres) from Earth. (more...)

NASA astronauts Bob Behnken , KE5GGX, and Doug Hurley , are settling in on board the International Space Station (ISS) after arriving aboard the first commercially built and operated USA spacecraft to transport humans into orbit. The Crew Dragon being used for this flight test can stay in orbit about 110 days. NASA astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken reported that the capsule was performing beautifully, as they closed in for the docking . The capsule pulled up to the station and docked automatically without any assistance needed. Prior to docking, the astronauts took control of the Crew Dragon to test manual piloting of the craft in space, before putting Dragon back into its automatic docking mode. (more...)

NASA has yet to decide how long Hurley and Behnken will spend at the space station, somewhere between one and four months. With their trip to the space station completed, the pair can claim victory in an epic game of capture the flag, taking possession of the American flag that was brought to the station on the last shuttle flight, and was waiting to return to Earth by the first crew to reach the station from USA soil. The mission was the first time NASA astronauts had launched from United States soil since the space shuttle was retired in 2011, and it marked the first time a private company had flown astronauts to orbit.
