Lower air pressures mean stronger storms. The Ocean Prediction Center reportedly said that as the storm strengthens into Sunday , the region can expect to see winds up to 98 miles per hour and waves with possible heights of more than 100 feet. It said it was making "all necessary preparations" for the forecast conditions. Much of the country is set to be buffeted by gusts of around 50mph, although coastal regions may experience heavier winds. It said Network Rail may need to put speed restrictions in place to keep passengers safe. Researchers are tracing the origin of these mysterious bursts but so far, they have traced myriad sources every burst.
