Boeing has developed the spacecraft for NASA as part of the space agency's Commercial Crew project. Boeing put its crew capsule Starliner on the launch pad to get it ready to take its first test flight in December. The spacecraft will make its way to the ISS where it will autonomously dock at one of the available ports. If all goes as planned and Boeing or SpaceX are certified and cleared for crewed missions, then the number of seats for the October launch won't be an issue. (more...)

Big meteor outbursts from this shower were recorded in 1925, 1935, 1985, and 1995. The track for now is to the west-northwest, but will approach a front Wednesday that will turn this storm north, then northeast before getting anywhere close to the United States. It should not affect any land areas. Only time will tell, but on the off-chance that it's not cloudy during the peak of the Leonids on Saturday night, the best places in the United Kingdom to see the meteor shower are the Shetland Islands and the South East. Peter Jenniskens, a senior research scientist with SETI and the NASA's AMES Research Center, has been monitoring the shower .
