During normal weather conditions, the hole in the Ozone layer this season will be approximately 8 million square miles. In October 2019, NASA says the ozone hole near the south pole this year is the smallest since it was discovered, but it is more due to freakish Antarctic weather than efforts to cut down on pollution. Blue Origin, the space company owned by Amazon's Jeff Bezos announced a partnership with Lockheed Martin , Northrop Gruman, and Draper to return Americans to the moon by 2024. The astronauts will make the trip inside a crew cabin that is part of the lander's upper ascent stage. Watching Americans return to the moon would be a fantastic sight! On Friday, NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Christina Koch made an interstellar first, becoming the only all-women tandem to conduct a spacewalk. Due to the error Trump made in his statement, Meir corrected the president. The president did not acknowledge his mistake, but instead gave a confusing speech about the USA launching a rocket off the moon to get to Mars . (more...)

The National Hurricane Center says slow development is possible and a tropical or subtropical cyclone could form late this week over the Gulf as the system tracks to the northeast. It's fast motion will likely prevent it from strengthening quickly. By tomorrow afternoon, the weather in the Panhandle should improve with the higher winds and heaviest rain moving on to Georgia and the Carolinas. (more...)

The National Hurricane Center is monitoring an area of low pressure that moved away from Central America and into the Southern Gulf of Mexico Wednesday. This is why it becomes more and more hard to sustain a tropical system in the winter season. The forecast calls for a 40-50 percent chance of higher than normal precipitation through the December-February time frame. El Niño is expected to remain neutral during the winter, meaning there will be neither El Niño or La Niña. "Wetter-than-average weather is most likely across the Northern Tier of the US during winter, which extends from December through February".
