China’s lunar rover found a freaky and unexpected substance on the Moon

The lunar lander for China's Chang'e 4 mission encountered what appeared to be alien substance on the Moon . Yutu 2 then returned to the crater where it first spotted the substance to observe its surroundings. Stunned by the discovery, the drive team called in their lunar scientists. One theory is that the material is an impactite, a substance which is formed when meteors hit an object in space. (more...)

Giving details about the progress of the ambitious mission, the space agency informed that the soft landing of Chandrayaan-2 Vikram lander on lunar surface is scheduled between 1:30 am to 2:30 am on Saturday, September 07, 2019. after reaching the moon's closest orbit. Chandrayaan-2 was launched on 22 July. Chandrayaan 2 will be the first Indian expedition to attempt a soft landing on the lunar surface. (more...)

The storm was about 225 miles east of West Palm Beach and was still moving west diligently at 8mph. The Category 4 storm still has sustained winds of 150 miles per hour. As of 5 PM Sunday, the storm was sitting 175 miles east of West Palm Beach and had slowed down, now moving west at only 5 mph. That storm did not make landfall. local time Monday, and Florida's NASA Kennedy Space Center said it was moving an enormous mobile rocket launcher inside to protect it. The only recorded storm that was more powerful was Hurricane Allen in 1980, with 190 miles per hour (305 kph) winds. (more...)

MIT Haystack Observatory scientist Kazunori Akiyama, along with many others, doubted if they would be able to see the black hole's shadow. Feryal Ozel, an astrophysicist at the University of Arizona who was the modeling and analysis lead on the project, told ABC News the gender breakdown was "pretty dismal", noting that there were about three senior women, including herself, out of about 200 total scientists on the project. Dorian is forecast to hit Florida on Labor Day as a Class four storm with 140 miles per hour winds. The companies were kicked out because they violated Florida statutes, and the companies did not appeal the city's decision. The scooter companies said they were cooperating with the city's order. The integrated module's entry to the nearly circular orbit of 119 x 127km happened after the last lunar-orbit manoeuvre was conducted at 6.21pm on for 52 seconds. Launched on July 22, its lander named "Vikram" will attempt to make a soft-landing on the Lunar surface on September 7. The spacecraft's health is being continuously monitored from the Mission Operations Complex at ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network in Bengaluru with support from ... (more...)
