Scientists still aren't sure how methane is removed from the atmosphere and becomes trapped in permafrost. They add: "We do not address the ultimate origin of the detected Martian methane". Interestingly, Mars Express detected no other methane spikes during the observational period aside from the one detected by Curiosity. There be a storm a'brewin! Dr. Simon and co-authors also used images from Hubble and Voyager 2 to pinpoint how long Neptunian storms last and how frequently they occur. The high-altitude clouds are made up of methane ice crystals, which give them their characteristic bright, white appearance. The cancellation of NASA's all-women spacewalk is disheartening given the circumstances.But the future looks bright as, Koch and McClain were part of NASA's 2013 class which was half female.
