The government has defined the meaning of aggregator, through Motor Vehicle aggregator guidelines, as digital mediators or marketplaces for passengers to connect with a driver for the intent of transportation. The cancellation penalty imposed on the rider will be divided between the driver and the aggregator in the proportion of the decided commission rate. (more...)

Halton Region recorded 130 new cases, a substantial one-day increase from 36. The agency also reported 29 new deaths related to the coronavirus over the past 24 hours; 11 of those were residents of long-term care facilities. In total, there are 13,255 people dealing with cases of COVID today. Those who show symptoms or have been exposed to a COVID-19 case should continue to stay home and get tested at an assessment centre, the province said. (more...)

A message was left early Friday seeking comment from Tesla. It added it is unaware of any related crashes, injuries, or deaths worldwide. West Texas Intermediate Crude oil futures for January ended down $0.18 or about 0.4% at $45.53 a barrel. Both contracts are at their highest since early March and have rallied around 9% in the last four days. OPEC+ was planning to raise output by 2 million barrels per day (bpd) in January - about 2% of global consumption - after record supply cuts this year. (more...)

Facebook and 20 partner organisations formally joined the digital currency project during a meeting in Geneva in October previous year. Facebook's Libra cryptocurrency is set to make its debut in early 2021. According to the report which cites three unidentified people involved in the cryptocurrency, the association is now going to launch only a single currency based on the USA dollar, the rest will be launched at a later point in time. The action takes the number of layoffs in the first half of fiscal 2021, mostly at Disney's parks, experiences and products divisions, to 32,000 - more than 10% of its total workforce . "It's been a year unlike any other in our lifetimes, and certainly in the history of the Walt Disney Co", CEO Bob Chapek said earlier this month. In addition to the layoffs 37,000 Disney employees who are not slated to be terminated were on furlough as of October 3. (more...)

The Chancellor said Northern Ireland's extra £920m was "new funding" which was more than double the £400m provided in the 2019 spending round. "And our economic emergency has only just begun". To help cope with rising unemployment, the Chancellor set out a almost £3 billion Restart programme to help get people back into work.
