Britain seals first major post-Brexit free trade deal with Japan

The British government claims the deal goes beyond the existing one Japan already has with the European Union , and follows months of negotiations between the two sides. Financial services make up Britain's biggest export to Japan, now standing at 28 percent. Guinness 0 .0 is described as having "the same beautifully smooth taste, perfectly balanced flavour and unique dark colour" but without the alcohol. The product was developed by a team at St James's Gate. In taste tests by an independent panel, they found that Guinness 0 .0 "exceeded expectations" with its taste lauded as "outstanding"*. FDA OKs Remdesivir, First Drug for COVID-19

According to CNBC , the FDA has now authorized the use of the drug for all hospitalized Covid-19 patients at least 12 years old, making remdesivir the only drug currently approved as a therapeutic for the virus. Clinical trials assessing the safety and efficacy of the drug in this pediatric patient population are ongoing, the FDA said. Australia Post says it will fully cooperate with an investigation into the decision to gift four Cartier watches to senior staff as a reward for a deal to do banking in post offices. The estimates hearing was told the total value of incentives was $97.4 million in the 2019/20 financial year. Scott Morrison forced the chief executive to stand aside on Thursday and threatened that if she refused, "she can go", as MPs and senior government figures pushed for her resignation. (more...)

In a blow to Uber and Lyft, a California appeals court said Thursday that the companies must reclassify their drivers as employees rather than independent contractors, affirming an earlier court decision. The group further dismissed Uber and Lyft's threats to suspend services or withdraw from California if forced to treat drivers as employees, calling it "a bluff meant to scare voters during this election".
