German economy stagnates as eurozone growth reaches 7-year low

This is below economists' expectations of a 0.1% expansion according to a survey by The Wall Street Journal. It's not all gloom - growth in the third quarter has been revised up to 0.2%. Destatis reports that German exports were "slightly down" in the last quarter, while imports of goods and services increased. Fourth-quarter GDP grew by 0.4 per cent compared with the same period previous year, Destatis said. (more...)

Data showed the rate of inflation of the vegetable group at 50.19 per cent in January, against 60.5 in December.
