The Ontario-based company, which already owns Burger King and Tim Hortons, will scoop up Popeyes stock at $79 per share. Delays with Tim Horton could signal slower progress for Popeyes as well. The chain now has more that 2,600 outlets, mainly in the US. Andrew Charles, a Cowen analyst, wrote in a research note last week. "The result is a transaction that delivers immediate and certain value to the Popeyes shareholders", Popeyes CEO Cheryl Bachelder said in the press release . (more...)

Appearing before a federal magistrate court on Thursday, Mr McDowell was charged for a violation of "possessing of a firearm and ammunition by a prohibited person". Additionally, McDowell said he would like hollow-point ammunition for the gun. McDowell told the officer he had not decided on a place or time to conduct the attack, but he apparently wanted to carry out the attack outside Horry County. (more...)
