Columbiana County Health Commissioner Wes Vins said there are 29 counties in OH that were found with mosquitoes testing positive for the West Nile Virus. There are no vaccines to prevent or medications to treat West Nile Virus, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Symptoms may include headaches, body aches, joint pains, vomiting, diarrhea or a rash. (more...)

Scientists may have discovered a cure for peanut allergies after a treatment administered four years ago has proven to still be effective in patients. As per the State's health department figures, 2,095 cases were reported this year, with 220 deaths; 746 have been cured and 1129 are under treatment. "Rupani along with state health minister Shankar Chaudhary, today visited Civil Hospitals of Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara and Ahmedabad to take first hand information about the measures being taken by respective authorities to tackle swine flu in the state", a government release said. However, the same has been declared a hoax. According to the latest reports, a person, calling the Delhi Police on 100, told that a bomb has been planted in the High Court. The Intelligence Bureau had issued an alert stating that terrorists from Kashmir may try and strike ahead or on Independence Day. The major concern was that Fire Trucks, Ambulances, SWAT vehicles and Bomb Disposal Squad Vehicles could not enter the High Court precincts from Gate 7 due to the passage being obstructed. (more...)

A new #Health Study conducted in the United Kingdom found that children who receive adequate sleep at night are far less likely to develop #Type 2 Diabetes in comparison to those who don't get enough sleep .
