One case with pending residence information was assigned to the South Central. These include, but are not always limited to, end-of-life care, major surgery, intensive care or critical care, maternal or pediatrics cares, long-term care residents whose quality of life or care needs are unmet or those patients with specific challenges. Oxford and AstraZeneca published interim efficacy results on Monday, which showed that the vaccine could be 90% effective when given as a half dose followed by a full dose. Prime Minister Boris Johnson in a tweet said: "Incredibly exciting news the Oxford vaccine has proved so effective in trials". Unlike vaccines made by Pfizer and another American company, Moderna, AstraZeneca's can be stored for months in normal refrigerators. (more...)

Pfizer's vaccine, jointly developed with German partner BioNTech, must be stored and transported at minus 70 degrees Celsius (-94F), although it can be kept in a fridge for up to five days, or up to 15 days in a thermal shipping box. Two new outbreaks in health-care facilities were reported at Royal Ascot Care Centre and Amica White Rock.
