The announcement Monday combines data from two different dosing regimens. The announcement comes after news from Moderna and the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine trials, which both showed efficacy of over 90 percent. Oxford professor Andrew Pollard said the latest findings suggested the drug was "an effective vaccine that will save many lives ". The Oxford University/AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine is 70 per cent effective at preventing COVID-19 - 25 per cent lower that US-produced rivals, preliminary results have revealed today. One showed a vaccine efficacy of 90%. While the efficacy reading from AstraZeneca's viral vector vaccine is lower than its USA rivals, the data will boost confidence about the chances of successfully developing a variety of vaccines using different approaches. Three of the remaining deaths were in the Calgary Zone including a man in his 70s as well as a woman in her 60s whose death is linked to the Foothills outbreak and a man in 90s whose death is linked to the Carewest George Boyack outbreak. St. Albert, at 400 Campbell Road in the parking lot. It was another record-breaking day related to COVID-19 in Canada . Global trials are expected to begin in Uzbekistan late this month , followed by trials in Indonesia, Pakistan and Ecuador. The Nepali government has sent requests to several countries that are developing Covid-19 vaccines seeking their early availability after they are proven to be effective. (more...)
