In the World Economic Forum/Ipsos survey of 18,526 adults from 15 countries, 73 said they would get a COVID-19 vaccine if available, down from 77 in August. A spokesperson from AstraZeneca, the pharmaceutical company working with the Oxford Vaccine Group, told the Guardian: "It is encouraging to see immunogenicity responses were similar between older and younger adults and that reactogenicity was lower in older adults, where the COVID-19 disease severity is higher". Since the researchers found higher levels of cross-reactive antibodies among children, it could explain why children are less likely to become severely ill from COVID-19. The study found children are eight times more likely than adults to naturally have antibodies that help fight off Covid-19 despite never having had it. (more...)

Premier Jason Kenney is strongly urging Albertans to stop holding house parties and get-togethers to bend the curve on sharply rising COVID-19 cases. Saturday's increase broke the prior one-day record set on Thursday with 802 new cases. However, he stopped short of considering a second lockdown similar to what was seen this past spring. Roker is sharing his journey to urge others at risk, particularly Black men, to make sure they see a doctor to get the proper checkups to stop a cancer that is very treatable if detected early. The Prostate Cancer Foundation recommends African American men talk to their doctor about being screened for prostate cancer at age 40. Savannah Guthrie also shared encouragement and "love and prayers". (more...)

According to state officials, almost 50,000 New Yorkers tested positive for the virus in October, approximately double the number who were infected the previous month in September. Nesbitt was "positive for COVID-19 and had been quarantined in her dorm room for 10 days", prior to her death, per the statement. The passing of Nesbitt is a tragedy, she was from Grand Ledge, Michigan, and was now in her third year at the college, studying Psychology. (more...)

Denmark's State Serum Institute , which deals with infectious diseases, has found mink-related strands of the novel coronavirus in 214 people since June, according to a report on its website updated on November 5. Thousands of mink on farms in the USA state of Utah have died after contracting the coronavirus. Denmark is the world's largest producer of mink fur in the world, but there have been outbreaks at farms in other countries, including Utah last summer when five cases were found ... (more...)

This comes after Wisconsin opened an Emergency Care Facility at State Fair Park. A spokeswoman for the city of Tumwater said Thursday that three firefighters also have tested positive for the virus.
