Children with this rare syndrome , which affects multiple organs and often requires hospitalization, can experience fever , abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, neck pain, rash, bloodshot eyes, and fatigue, according to the CDC . This study suggests that an over-reliance on cough and fever as the main symptoms of COVID-19 may be flawed and that loss of smell needs to be urgently recognized globally as a key symptom of COVID-19. There's no clear answer. Recruitment to the study took place between April 23 and May 14 at the peak of the pandemic by sending text messages to people registered with a number of primary care centres in London who had reported sudden loss in their sense of smell and/or taste. Chief medical officer of health, Dr Deena Hinshaw provided another live update remotely. On Wednesday, Alberta reported 153 new cases, bringing the number of active cases to 1,582. There are seven health units listed on "outbreak" status while another is listed on "watch". Positivity rates remain consistent at 1.17 per cent with 14,678 tests completed in the last 24 hours. The study suggests "testosterone treatment in SARS-CoV-2 infected hypogonadal male patients" for better results, though it adds that more research is needed on this. Dr Kelly also explains that other underlying health conditions could also explain this observation. Johnson County has 27 confirmed cases, 5 active lab confirmed cases. There are now four students or staff members in quarantine, one from TCMS, one from TCHS and one from the Central Kentucky Career Academy. Johns Hopkins reported 33,808,562 COVID-19 cases worldwide Wednesday afternoon. If someone has a known exposure to a person with COVID-19, the health department recommends self-quarantining and calling Ravalli County Public Health for further guidance. (more...)
