Email george.block@stuff.co.nz . The first week that the state released risk metrics by county (the week of June 14-20), McHenry County had 21 new cases per 100,000 people and a 4.3% positivity rate. Visits are counted if a patient presents with a fever and either a cough, difficulty breathing or is given a diagnosis of COVID-19. This is an increase from Friday's 5.8% of tests returning positive but not the highest of the week . (more...)

Health officials have reported slightly larger numbers of new COVID-19 cases in Will County in recent days. The county also reported four new hospitalizations . Governor Steve Bullock announced a statewide directive requiring face coverings/masks in Montana on July 15. The Jackson County Health Department asks residents to follow public health guidelines by wearing a mask in public, maintaining social distance, avoiding social gatherings, washing hands frequently and working with ... Active cases are total cases less recoveries and deaths. Maloney, Kent Muench and Rob Muench said they did not know how many cases had been recorded. Four people are in intensive care including three in Saskatoon and one in Regina. Active cases rose by 130, jumping from 128 to 258 in that same time frame. (more...)

Trump Administration is providing funds to the health care companies for accelerating the development of COVID-19 vaccine. The province dipped back down to fewer than 150 new cases on Saturday with 138 following a spike on Friday of 195 new infections. Sixteen new resolved cases were added to the total case count Sunday. Hospitalization continues to drop.There are only 87 persons in hospital across the province, 29 of whom are in ICU and 21 are on ventilators. Ottawa is reporting 26 cases with 25 more cases in Windsor-Essex. (more...)

A group of state education chiefs has said US schools would need more than $200 billion to prepare for a fall reopening. Some U.S. school districts will return in the fall with online classes. Face masks are set to become mandatory in shops and supermarkets across England from tomorrow (24 July), with anyone failing to comply liable to face a fine of up to £100. The Police Federation, which represents front-line officers, says they can't spend their time patrolling thousands upon thousands of outlets. Police will be able to "use force" to remove customers from shops if they do not wear face coverings, as well as prevent them from entering, according to the College of Policing. (more...)

There are now three active cases - one in the Eastern Health region and two in the Central Health region. There were no new cases linked to the Crossroads Hotel cluster. Health officials are advising that four new cases of COVID-19 have been identified as of 9:30 a.m. Saturday, marking 58 new cases this week. The cluster associated with the Thai Rock restaurant in Wetherill Park is now the second largest cluster reported in Australia. (more...)

The United States recorded more than 1,000 deaths from COVID-19 for the fourth straight day on Friday as nearly 40 countries have reported record single-day increases in coronavirus infections over the past week. A total of 1.26 million people have recovered from the disease. Mississippi, another state experiencing an uptick of cases, imposed a mask mandate on multiple additional counties, on top of the original 13 counties that already had mask mandates, this week. Hinshaw said she believes fatigue is playing a role in the rise of new cases. Why stay two metres apart in public?
