Coronavirus hospitalization totals in the state dropped to 765, the lowest they've been since mid-March, and less than one percent of COVID-19 tests came back positive in the last 24 hours, Cuomo also said Friday. Restaurants and bars are preparing for changes due to the new guidelines. The problems have been most serious in New York City, Cuomo said. MDH is now reporting that the number of patients who no longer need isolation represents individuals with confirmed COVID-19 who no longer need to self-isolate. Gov. Tim Walz is still weighing whether Minnesota should join more than 20 states in requiring people to wear cloth masks or face coverings that reduce transmission of the virus. (more...)

Yep, from Friday next week, the same reimposed restrictions on pubs in NSW will also be extended to clubs, restaurants, cafes, and all indoor hospitality venues. NSW Health on Wednesday confirmed the "patient zero" of the Crossroads Hotel outbreak was most likely a Melbourne freight company employee who attended the venue on July 3 for a work party. (more...)

The province says it is reaching out to Hutterite leaders to find out if testing units should be brought to communities. Warren Kaeding, minister of rural and remote health in Saskatchewan, announced on Thursday that the vast majority of the new cases are related to a growing outbreak in a number of Hutterite communities and other neighbouring communities in southwest and west central Saskatchewan. The company commenced Phase I of the human clinical trials for Covaxin on July 15 with the first volunteer being administered the dose at AIIMS Patna, sources said. The SARS-CoV-2 strain was isolated in NIV, Pune and transferred to Bharat Biotech. The total number of cases now stands at 37,163, which includes 2,737 deaths and 33,061 cases marked as resolved. "With 141 more resolved, there are 30 fewer active cases in Ontario". At the time, only one visitor per resident at a maximum of one visit per week has been allowed for an outdoor visit.
