The number of new cases brings the total to 1,928 in the county, along with 93 deaths. Florida has one of the highest coronavirus counts in the nation, and even though Bay County's 3 percent positive testing rate is half the state's average, health experts say we're also seeing a rise in our area. The rising levels of reported cases come as the county gears up for considering when to apply for Phase 3 of the state's Safe Start plan. Of the active cases, 28 are quarantining at home and three are in the hospital. Page noted that while the county has increased testing capacity and contact tracing staff, other factors come into consideration.
