The Cabinet signed off on Phase 1 of the roadmap to reopen the country on Friday based on advice from the NPHET. The lifting of restrictions there includes allowing small groups of four people to meet outside while social distancing. Some 13% (3,062) were hospitalised with their symptoms and 387 had been admitted to intensive care. Dublin has the highest number of cases at 11,557 (49% of all cases) followed by Kildare with 1,352 cases (6%) and then Cork with 1,256 cases (5%). (more...)

The United States, China and Germany are main the event of a course of to eradicate this lethal virus. No better vaccine has yet been developed to eradicate the corona virus, including Mars and SARS. Earlier on Friday, President Donald Trump announced what he called "Operation Warp Speed" to develop a COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible, hopefully making inoculations available by the end of the year. "We are calling on Health Ministers at the World Health Assembly to rally behind a people's vaccine against this disease urgently". The Premier went on to say that from 22 June the number of allowed patrons could increase to 50 and up to 100 in mid July. It was a big one, including the announcement of a "phased reopening" of Victoria's hospitality industry. "That can change though". New Brunswick is now in phase 2 of its COVID-19 recovery plan, which is aimed at the reopening of businesses and activities while working to prevent a resurgence of transmission. On Friday, B.C. announced two new COVID-19 outbreaks, one at a Coquitlam produce wholesaler and one at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital. To limit the spread of the virus in prisons, the state has started releasing prisoners over 50 years old who are not guilty of a violent crime or sexual assault and have 90 days or less left on their sentence.
