A total of 1,187 LTC residents have died from the virus to date as well as less than five LTC employees. Health officials in Washington state have backtracked on a recent report that some people are trying to infect themselves with COVID-19 at " coronavirus parties", saying the gatherings were not meant to spread the virus. In a news release, the commissioners stated they were notified by DCH that social gatherings were beginning to occur and that initially one of those gatherings had been reported as a "coronavirus party".
