Fifteen of the new cases are in the Far North region - with 12 of those being in the La Loche area - while the remaining four are in the North region. There are now 12 people in hospital, including four in intensive care (three in Saskatoon and one in the North). Other tests require a professional to insert a swab up people's noses or into their throats. The approach recently got approval of the FDA; this was for healthcare workers collecting saliva from individuals at testing sites. Gilead on Tuesday said it was in discussion with several companies, including generic drugmakers in India and Pakistan to produce remdesivir in large quantities. The development was revealed a few moments ago to newsmen by a top Japan government official, Yoshihide Suga, Naija News learnt. According to the company, the drug has been tested on animals against viral pathogens that are structurally similar to COVID-19, like MERS and SARS, which are also triggered by coronaviruses. It shows that 45% of nursing homes have incurred a wait of five days or more for results to be returned. Several veterans homes have been hit especially hard by the virus.
