Speaking at a media briefing in Durban on Friday, Minister Mkhize gave a provincial breakdown of the deaths - KwaZulu-Natal had 12 deaths, the Western Cape had six deaths, while Gauteng and the Free State had three each. At present Convalescent plasma therapy is not new and has been used by doctors to treat critically ill patients during earlier epidemics like H1N1, SARS and Ebola. Miller-Keystone is the blood provider for 29 hospitals in eastern Pennsylvania, including the Lehigh Valley, and western New Jersey.
