Wednesday saw the largest overnight jump with an increase of 676. China has recorded 3,245 deaths since early January. An army spokesman said 15 trucks and 50 soldiers had been deployed to move coffins to neighbouring provinces. More than 3,000 people have now tested positive for the coronavirus. . In Nebraska, the Red Cross says 41 drives, or an estimated 1,333 donations, have been canceled due to COVID-19. These cancellations have resulted in some 86,000 fewer blood donations. Hand sanitizer is provided and used throughout the donation process. "Our staff wear gloves and they change them often". Routinely wiping down donor-touched areas. (more...)

Four other Fusco children and their mother have been hospitalized with COVID-19, all of whom have been hospitalized and four of whom are in critical condition. "To imagine a week ago to get a phone call like this - if someone told me this story, I wouldn't believe it", she said. One of the grey areas that could probably have not have been foreseen is the question that surfaced in the last week as to whether it is risky for someone with the virus to take the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) tablet Ibuprofen. He added, "The finding in two randomized trials that advice to use ibuprofen results in more severe illness or complications helps confirm that the association seen in observational studies is indeed likely to be causal". The hospital said last week it had access to around 900 COVID-19 test kits. "Testing is restricted to patients who meet government screening criteria". Both centres will be open from 11 a.m.to 7 p.m. seven days a week. The centre is located in a series of trailers just outside the Emergency Department entrance, in a bid to limit any risk of spreading infection. (more...)

Preliminary research has suggested patients with Type A blood are more susceptible to coronavirus infection and its symptoms. While 85 of a sample of 206 victims had blood type A, only 52 had type O blood. (more...)
