The deal passed 90-8 after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Mo.) urged Republicans to vote in favor. As of Tuesday, the state had 17 confirmed cases and one death. Students in several states across the country may not return to classrooms for the rest of the school year amid the growing coronavirus outbreak. Late last week, governors began to close schools starting with Ohio, Maryland, Michigan, New Mexico and OR and soon after more than two dozen followed, but with plans to reopen in a number of weeks. Better known for its cameras, Fujifilm developed Avigan and has licensed the patent for favipiravir to Chinese company Zhejiang Hisun Pharmaceutical. World Health Organization figures indicated that the total number of cases confirmed worldwide was 168,019 as of Monday.
