Staff and students at Whitney Junior, a Toronto public school, are being warned they could've been exposed to COVID-19 after it was discovered a resident diagnosed with the virus had visited the school. Ontario health officials will provide an update on the virus' status in the province at 3 p.m. Monday, March 9 at Queen's Park. At this time, there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Algoma. On Saturday afternoon, Governor Tom Wolf confirmed two new presumptive positive cases of 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Pennsylvania. According to the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA), there is now no evidence of community transmission of the virus in Pennsylvania, meaning the two presumptive cases are directly related to travel history. "This morning we received results of the direct contact of the first patient, his wife". Health officials confirmed the second case late afternoon on March 6. She returned to Calgary on February 21 and started to self-isolate at home on February 28. "The important thing is that we were able to identify this case (and) we were able to take public health measures to contain any spread".
