No deaths have been reported. The cases tend to involve gradual breathing difficulties, coughing, fatigue, chest pain, and weight loss, which leads to hospitalization (no one had died from the condition). The new figure is an uptick of 59 cases since Saturday , when the CDC reported 94 potential illnesses in 14 states. The CDC is investigating each reported case. IL has reported ten confirmed cases and 12 more under investigation. California is looking into 19 such cases. Humberto Choi, a pulmonologist and critical care specialist at the Cleveland Clinic. Defective vaping devices can cause fires and explosions. What are the symptoms of severe pulmonary illnesses linked to vaping? Twelve possible cases were identified in IL with 10 considered confirmed, 12 under investigation and 2 excluded. (more...)

Almost two dozen people have been hospitalized in the Midwest for complications stemming from vaping. Public Health says the first human case of virus in the city past year was reported on July 27. Use insect repellents when you go outdoors.
