Adams, the government's top doctor, issued an advisory on Tuesday stressing the importance of protecting children from nicotine addiction and the health risks associated with e-cigarettes. The same can be said of Adams' fearmongering about the dangers that e-cigarettes pose to vapers. On Friday, O'Connor ruled that after Trump signed a $1.5 trillion tax bill passed by Congress past year that eliminated the penalties, the individual mandate could no longer be considered constitutional. The ACA, while providing limited protections for ordinary Americans, has funneled hundreds of millions into the coffers of the private insurers by forcing people to buy insurance or pay a penalty. Democratic Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia, a state where Trump is popular and whose conservative attorney general is one of the lawsuit plaintiffs, issued a statement attacking the ruling as "misguided and inhumane". Murkowski on Saturday said she understands that access to affordable, quality health care is critically important for Alaskans. Deaths involving heroin have also continued to rise, increasing threefold from 2011 to 2016.
