Two Tulare County women under the age of 65 have died from influenza A-related infection, according to Tulare County Public Health officials. The prior week ending January 20, there were 15 deaths. A woman who lives nearby told ABC7 it "sounded like a train coming through". Fire Chief Chip Duncan confirmed the deaths and injuries, but could not say how numerous dead were aboard the aircraft. Chip Duncan said. She said she knows the people who live in the home where the helicopter crash. Columbia Memorial Hospital's director of nursing Kendra Gohl said the incidence of influenza this winter has been higher than in the last couple of years and largely affecting younger populations. Eighty-seven students at Saint Patrick High School, located at 5900 W Belmont Ave, were out sick Monday with the flu.
