The University of Texas at Austin is facing a lawsuit after it chose to remove three Confederate statues from its campus August 20. The university planned to relocate the statues to another place on campus other than the Main Mall. That lawsuit was not successful and the statue was moved. In an email sent to the University the night of August 20, Fenves said the historical significance of the statues was "severely compromised by what they symbolize". (more...)

The Danish submarine-maker is suspected in the death of Kim Wall, a Swedish journalist whose headless torso was recovered days after her disappearance while writing a feature story about Madsen. Mr Madsen, 46, pleaded not guilty to a new charge of abuse of a corpse as well as the original murder charge.
