Wales to lower voting age to sixteen

The reforms to the rules would further allow people who are "living legally in Wales" but don't have United Kingdom citizenship to vote, Cabinet Secretary Alun Davies declared. The Welsh Government wants to lower the voting age - and Maajid Nawaz doesn't understand why anyone would be against it. "By reducing the voting age to 16 we can also encourage more young people to take an interest in politics and get involved in the democratic process while still in education". (more...)

On 6 September, Chief Justice Misra had directed all states to appoint nodal officers and directed the Centre to obtain instructions from the concerned authorities and apprise the court on steps being taken to prevent such attacks. It had said that "some kind of planned action is required so that vigilantism does not grow" and efforts have to be made to stop such vigilantism. Jaishankar was appointed foreign secretary in January 2015, for two years, just a few days before his retirement, replacing Sujata Singh, whose term was abruptly curtailed by the government. The parliamentary committee drawing up recommendations to change the Dutch colonial-era criminal code has still to finalise its proposals. Three people have been arrested after relatives blamed the hospital for the death of 32-year-old Rajesh Maru who was pulled into the machine when he walked into the MRI room, the International Business Times reported . Also, according to Maru's uncle, Maru had been asked to carry the cylinder by the junior staff member who assured him the machine was switched off. The Rocky Mountain House RCMP recently charged a 17-year-old Clearwater County youth with one count of arson for the fire which destroyed the Leslieville Elk's Hall on December 29th, 2017. No further information will be provided in relation to this investigation. The Elks Lodge in Leslieville was at least 75 years old. The Elks of Canada have more than 250 lodges in communities across Canada. (more...)

The Russian jet crossed 50 feet in front of the Navy P-8A Poseidon aircraft while engaging its afterburners, which forced the P-8 to enter its jet wash and caused "violent turbulence". (more...)

Sunday. The victims have been identified as 20-year-old Jarlyn Lantigua-Tejada, 20-year-old Joshua Santos, and 23-year-old Juan Rodriguez. The Berks County coroner's office was called, police said. The fourth victim has yet to be positively identified. The mother of one of the victims, Heidi Franceschi, spoke with Action News on camera, saying she has no idea why anyone would want to hurt her son. (more...)

An Australian Growler Electronic Warfare jet caught fire after an aborted takeoff during Exercise Red Flag at a United States military base in Nevada on Sunday, due to a reported engine failure.
