Officers went to the 1000 block of McCormick, preparing for a hostage situation and they "got into position", he said. Police are investigating whether it was a "swatting" incident or prank. One gamer provided a false address that led to police being called to the location at Seneca and McCormick. Police later learned that the call was false and did not come from the home. (more...)

The dog's owner, 40-year-old Victor Vallejo Sr., told The Blade he'd been providing for the dogs even though he'd been living elsewhere. PetMD.com says most dogs will begin to feel uncomfortable once temperatures fall below 45 degrees, and that nearly every dog should be brought inside when it's 20 degrees or colder. (more...)

When they arrived, they found 36-year-old Aracely Jernigan dead in the living room. But once Lockings Sr. made it inside, he reportedly saw the body. Family members found Lockings at the scene and helped him turn himself into police. No motive has been determined yet. KTRK reports that officers reported seeing a packed bag with women's clothes inside the home, leading them to believe Jernigan was leaving at the time she was attacked. (more...)
