Houston Man Nearly Decapitated Girlfriend with Samurai Sword

When they arrived, they found 36-year-old Aracely Jernigan dead in the living room. But once Lockings Sr. made it inside, he reportedly saw the body. Family members found Lockings at the scene and helped him turn himself into police. No motive has been determined yet. KTRK reports that officers reported seeing a packed bag with women's clothes inside the home, leading them to believe Jernigan was leaving at the time she was attacked. (more...)

It was noted in the advisory that wind chills this cold can cause frostbite in less than 15 minutes. Sunny, with a high near 55. The highway lane was shut down for more than three hours, local media reported, as crews worked to put out the fire and clear the unseasoned guacamole from the roadway. While the Texas Department of Public Safety could not confirm the cause of the incident, WFAA reports on indications that suggest it was a mechanical issue that caused the fire. (more...)

Sophie's father Martin Knowles has released a video appeal in which he urges her to "come home".
