A court in Northern Ireland has rejected a couple's plea to have their same-sex marriage recognised, asserting again that there are no exceptions to the territory's ban on equal marriage. A majority of MLAs backed a law change the last time the issue came to the floor of Stormont, but the socially conservative Democratic Unionists triggered a contentious voting mechanism to effectively block the measure. Five Chinese ships were found near Thitu Island, the biggest island in the Spratlys administered by the Philippines, a Filipino lawmaker said during a press conference yesterday. Amazonas Governor Liborio Guarulla, an opponent of President Nicolas Maduro, described the episode as a "massacre" caused by an Interior Ministry team that tried to take the prison by force, Efe news reported. Two prison-monitoring groups, A Window to Freedom and the Venezuelan Prisons Observatory, said the 37 killed were all inmates. The European Commission ordered Apple to repay taxes to the State after ruling previous year that the U.S. technology company paid so little tax on its Ireland-based operations that it amounted to state aid. The money is presently being deposited in escrow. The requirement to collect the funds was also criticized by Donohoe. US President Donald Trump said last week Washington would rain " fire and fury " on North Korea , which some interpreted as threatening the country with a preemptive nuclear attack. Marine Corps Gen. Joseph Dunford told reporters Thursday that he's advised the US leadership not to dial back on the exercises with South Korea. The move comes as statues to Confederate leaders are being taken down across the country and after the violence last weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia, spurred by white supremacists gathered to protest the city's planned removal of a Lee statue in a downtown park.
