Eclipse will cut down on solar. PJM said they project the eclipse to impact some 2,500 mega-watts of solar power generation, primarily in rooftop solar systems. This work will serve as a benchmark reference for any utility to optimize its solar resources at all times. North Carolina's power grid will face a similar juggling act to make up for its 4,000 megawatts of lost solar power, according to the NERC report. (more...)
