At approximately 8 a.m. Sunday, Michigan State Police were dispatched to the scene of a truck and buggy accident on Condensary Road in Sheridan, just east of the intersection with Townhall Road. The Daily News in Greenville reports the crash killed a 12-year-old boy, a 9-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy who were riding in the buggy. The six others occupants of the buggy were transported to area hospitals where they were listed in critical condition. (more...)

No arrests have been announced in either shooting, the driver in the hit and run was identified by police. Two other juveniles were injured from gunshot wounds and transported to local hospitals. Police said they located the truck involved in the accident, and the department said it is in police custody. Police said the juvenile died after a shooting in the 4400 block of Austin Bluffs Parkway around 3:10 a.m. (more...)

The suspect is described as a white male dressed as Santa Claus. Officials couldn't say how the suspect was injured, but said police officers did not have to use force during the arrest. One of the four victims refused medical treatment at the scene. The gunman was at the party and knew the victims, Knouse said. A committee has been formed to look into the deaths of 18 infants who died at Ahmedabad's Civil Hospital in the last few days. Five infants, referred from Lunawada (Mahisagar district), Surendranagar (town in Saurashtra), Mansa (Gandhinagar district), Viramgam (Ahmedabad district) and Himmatnagar (Sabarkantha district), were brought with severe life threatening conditions such as extremely low birth weight (around 1.1 kg), hyaline membrane disease, early onset of septicaemia and ... Meadow Bailey, the department's communications director, said Utqiagvik, an Arctic Ocean coastal community on Alaska's North Slope, experienced heavy storms Monday. "Birds make up over 90% of strikes in the U.S., while mammal strikes are rare". But the Department of Transportation isn't allowed to move marine mammals , so to safely transport the friendly critter, airport staff called in North Slope Animal Control. (more...)
