The front part of the vessel, which on Saturday afternoon split in two on the reefs of Pointe d'Esny, had drifted away by about 30 metres, director of maritime affairs Alain Donat told local newspaper Le Mauricien . Nagashiki, the owner, has pledged to "sincerely" respond to requests for compensation over damage to the marine environment. Surfer saved after friend punches shark in Australian attack

He jumped off his surfboard and onto the juvenile great white when it wouldn't let his wife go. Paramedics were called to Shelly Beach on NSW's mid-north coast about 9:30am on Saturday, after the woman was attacked while surfing. He added it was "pretty full on" and "really heroic". Her condition remains stable, and she will be recovering soon, the medical team claimed. She is now in hospital with severe lacerations in her leg. (more...)

In Champaign County, the county clerk plans to have up to six drop boxes for voters to put their ballots in through Election Day. Pascrell, D-9th Dist., asked Attorney General Gurbir S. "If they don't get those two items, that means you can't have universal mail-in voting because they're not equipped to have it". While the boat's reservoirs were successfully emptied on Wednesday, preventing further massive damage, some of the remaining 100 tons of oil stored elsewhere on the boat began to leak on Friday. A majority of the new cases came from the greater Seoul region - home to half of the country's 51 million people - raising fears about a major spike with a three-day weekend starting in South Korea from Saturday. It reported four more deaths and 303 new cases in the past 24 hours. Seoul reported 74 cases, while 72 cases were reported from neighboring Gyeonggi-do. (more...)

She was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries to her right leg. Ms Doyle was flown to Newcastle Hospital for surgery and was in a stable condition. Australia has one of the world's highest incidences of shark attacks and there have been five fatal ones in the country so far this year.
