According to the China Three Gorges Corporation, by 2:00 p.m. Sunday, the dam has accumulatively withheld 14 billion cubic meters of floodwater during the main flood season this year. Even as flood waters swept around a 700-year-old Guanyinge temple in China's Wuhan, the ancient structure stood strong against the strong gushes of water. (more...)

Russian Federation denied any involvement in the incident, which took place during the 2016 US presidential election. Later in history, when the city of Constantinople was captured by the Turks and renamed Istanbul , it became a mosque of Ayasofya. Turkish newspapers report that inside the building, whose 31.3-metre dome was the largest in the world until the end of the Middle Ages, "feverish work" is under way to have the building ready for the reopening next Friday.
