One industry source said USTR could announce an action on Friday reserving the right to impose tariffs on around $500 million worth of French goods that were included in a larger list published in December, while deferring implementation. Banning ads leading up to the election would be a major reversal. Authorities were working to put out a fire on the USS Bonhomme Richard, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. The vessel was undergoing routine maintenance at the time of the fire.
