Police said someone called them for help after a scared, young child ran into an apartment while she was being chased by her father, who was wearing a clown mask. The man donned a clown mask to "discipline" his daughter. Barrett said his daughter was having behavioral issues, but he made a decision to scare her as discipline instead of spanking because of what her mother did, the report said. (more...)

He was arrested along with hundreds of others after taking part in a peaceful demonstration in Cairo. After some major delays the prosecution ended its case last month allowing for the defence case to be opened. Mr Halawa claims he has been tortured and has gone on hunger strikes during his imprisonment. A year ago a former cellmate called on the Government to act to assist in the release of the Irish man as he expressed alarm at the length of his detention. (more...)
