The death toll from Hurricane Irma is climbing with authorities reporting six patients at a Florida nursing home died after it had lost power, as millions struggle with no electricity and scarce essential services in the storm-hit state. State records revealed a variety of problems at the center. Rescue crews began going door to door in the 94-degree heat to check on people and hand out water, ice and meals. (more...)
