The unusual level of public anger directed at the Chinese Communist party led to its powerful internal anti-corruption body and the country's highest anti-corruption agency declaring investigators would go to Wuhan for "a comprehensive investigation into the problems reported by the public concerning Doctor Li Wenliang". The Calgary Humane Society has closed its doors amid a worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. The Nevada Humane Society is offering 50% off all adoptions starting Tuesday, March 17, 2020 in an effort to find homes for the shelter animals in case they need to close amid the COVID-19 emergency. (more...)

The British government is reportedly struggling to contain the virus which is drastically spreading across the country despite the city guidelines which have advised all citizens to practice social distancing and non-essential travel. Although these are the services TfL plans to run, if fewer staff are available further measures may be needed. From next Monday, London Overground, TfL Rail, the DLR and London Trams will run fewer services too. (more...)

At his first daily coronavirus press conference in Downing Street, the prime minister introduced the measures after the number of positive cases rose to 1,543 on Monday , a jump of 171 from the 1,372 cases on Sunday. "And it looks as though London is now a few weeks ahead". It comes after Boris Johnson yesterday announced that people should stop socialising, work from home, avoid travelling and that whole households should stay in isolation if one person becomes ill. Marion will be offering lunches and breakfast to children 18 years of age and younger beginning on Tuesday, March 24th. Almost 5,000 meals have been distributed to Cedar Springs area students so far. Hours are 10 a.m.to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday until school re-opens. For the health and wellness of our volunteers, we will not be delivering meals outside our district boundaries. (more...)
