Whelan has not been formally charged, and the Moscow court made a decision to keep him in pre-trial custody. Put simply, for the findings of Mueller's final report not to reach the public would be an affront to the American people. He was also given the option of referring any other matters that he might come across to federal prosecutors. (And I'm not sure I believe that the DOJ really wants Mueller to finish up so that his report doesn't screw up the next kabuki summit with Kim Jong-un.) And it emphasizes that the process of finishing the job and issuing the report is pretty cloudy itself. (more...)

No planes are reported to have suffered any damage. Sources say they will fly once the fire is completely doused. No casualties have been reported so far. According to some reports, member Luciana Berger said on Channel 4 News that the group had funded the launch themselves.
